Total Flower Chaos "Roses"

When I took up songwriting in 2004, I used the acoustic guitar as my main tool for writing songs. I began playing out solo, then formed the acoustic group Scupanon. My previous CD releases have been mostly acoustic. So most people think of me as a singer-songwriter, or folk musician. And while that will always be part of my identity, the truth is, I've always been more of a rocker as a folkie. Roses, and my February 2016 release Word, are first steps in correcting the imbalance.

I adopted the band name Total Flower Chaos for my rock personality. The debut CD, Roses, consists of 5 instrumental rock songs. The style reflects the different genres of rock music that have influenced me, ranging from hard rock/metal to Sonic Youth to The Cure and others.

I am now forming a band around the Total Flower Chaos idea, and hopefully we'll begin gigging in Colorado before too long. My plan is for Roses will be the first in a series of Total Flower Chaos CDs.

I hope you'll take a few minutes to smell the Roses.

You can listen to all the songs for free on either site listed above-- you can "try before you buy." You can download the songs at both the CDBaby site as well as the Bandcamp site, as well as on itunes, Amazon.com and other sites. Bandcamp, however, allows you to pay as much as you want for the downloads as a way of helping the artist recover their costs.

Before you download, however, I should point out that the artwork by Nick Jackson is awesome, as you can see from the above graphic. So you might consider getting the CD for the beauty of it.

Denver residents can buy Roses (and all my CDs) at Twist and Shout Record Store.
